This worked for me. I had the same error a few hours ago: Open the 'Control Panel'. Open 'Folder Options'. Select the 'View' tab. Select 'Show hidden files and folders'. Uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files'. In the warning message you receive, click 'Yes'. Click 'OK'. Close the Control Panel Go to this folder from My Computer: C:Documents and Settings/All Users . There is a folder there called DRM. Right-click on the DRM folder, and Rename it DRM.old. Close this window and open OverDrive Media Console. Go to Tools > Windows Media Player Security Upgrade. Once the WMP security upgrade has been done, download the audiobook title again. Optional: Return to Control Panel -- Folder Options -- View, and restore your folder viewing options to their original state.

Thanks for the insight. I am running Windows Vista and had trouble finding the DRM file. I did, however, remain persistent with step #12 and when I was successful with the Security Update everything works again.
